CheerScout is a recruiting and discovery platform designed to help athletes, families, coaches, and college programs connect and learn about opportunities in collegiate cheerleading and related programs.
CheerScout may allow users to create profiles, share athletic information and media, discover schools and programs, communicate with other users, view recruiting opportunities, and use recruiting-related tools.
2.Information We Collect
Depending on how you use CheerScout, we may collect the following categories of information.
Information You Provide
When you create an account or use CheerScout, you may provide:
Name, email address, phone number, password or authentication information
Date of birth or age information, school information, graduation year
Athletic and cheerleading information, skills and experience, competition information
Athletic interests, recruiting interests, college preferences
Profile photographs, athletic videos and other media
Biographical information, coach/parent/guardian/program information
Communications you send through CheerScout
Information submitted through forms, surveys, or other features
You should only provide information that you are authorized to provide.
College and Coach Information
College coaches and program representatives may provide information including:
Name, email address, phone number
College or organization, coaching position
Program information, recruiting information
School logo and publicly available school information
Recruiting events and opportunities
Automatically Collected Information
When you use our Services, we may automatically collect certain technical information, such as:
Device type, operating system, app version, browser type
IP address, general usage information, pages or features viewed
Approximate location information derived from technical data
Crash reports and diagnostic information
Information about how you interact with the Services
We use this information primarily to operate, maintain, secure, and improve CheerScout.
3.Athlete Profiles and Public Information
CheerScout allows athletes to create recruiting profiles. Depending on the features and settings available to the user, an athlete profile may contain information such as:
Athlete name, graduation year, school, athletic skills, cheerleading experience, photos, videos, recruiting interests, and other information the athlete chooses to include.
Users should not publish sensitive personal information that is not necessary for recruiting purposes.
CheerScout may provide privacy controls that allow users to determine whether certain information is visible to other users.
Because CheerScout is a recruiting platform, information intentionally included in a public or discoverable profile may be visible to coaches, college programs, athletes, families, or other users of the Services.
4.Minors and Youth Athletes
CheerScout recognizes that some athletes using the platform may be under 18. We take additional care with information relating to children and teenagers.
CheerScout is not intended to encourage children to provide unnecessary personal information. Users should provide only information appropriate for recruiting and the features they are using.
Parents and legal guardians are encouraged to participate in a minor athlete’s use of CheerScout and to review the information included in the athlete’s profile.
Where parental or guardian consent is required by applicable law, CheerScout will use appropriate mechanisms to obtain or verify that consent.
We do not knowingly sell the personal information of children. We do not knowingly use children’s personal information for behavioral advertising.
Parents or legal guardians who believe that a minor has provided personal information to CheerScout without appropriate authorization may contact us using the information in the “Contact Us” section below.

6.Communications

You may be able to manage certain notifications through your account or device settings.
7.Messaging and Recruiting Communications
CheerScout may provide features that allow athletes, coaches, and college programs to communicate. Information submitted through messaging or recruiting communications may be processed and stored so that the communication feature can function.
Users should avoid sending sensitive information through the platform unless it is necessary and appropriate.
CheerScout may review or investigate communications when reasonably necessary to address reports of abuse, safety concerns, fraud, violations of our Terms of Service, or legal obligations.
8.Location and Maps
Some CheerScout features may use location-related information to display schools, athletes, programs, recruiting opportunities, or other information on maps. CheerScout may use:
Location information that a user voluntarily provides
City, state, or other geographic information included in a profile
General location information associated with device or technical data
CheerScout does not require users to publish their precise residential address as part of an athlete recruiting profile. Users should not publish a home address or other unnecessarily precise location information in a public profile.
If the mobile application requests permission to access your device location, you can control that permission through your device’s privacy settings.
9.Photos, Videos, and Media
Users may upload photos, videos, and other media to their profiles. By uploading content, you represent that you have the necessary rights and permissions to upload and share that content.
Users, parents, guardians, coaches, and programs should ensure that they have appropriate permission before uploading or publishing media involving another person, particularly a minor.
CheerScout may store and process uploaded media to provide profile, recruiting, and communication features.
10.Cookies and Similar Technologies
The CheerScout website may use cookies, local storage, analytics tools, or similar technologies to keep users signed in, remember preferences, maintain security, understand how the Services are used, improve website performance, and troubleshoot technical problems.
You may be able to control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling certain technologies may affect the functionality of portions of the Services.
11.Analytics and Third-Party Services
CheerScout may use third-party service providers to help operate the Services. These providers may assist with functions such as hosting, authentication, database services, analytics, crash reporting, communications, security, payment processing, customer support, media storage, and infrastructure and application performance.
These providers may process information on CheerScout’s behalf and are expected to use information only as necessary to provide the services for which they are engaged.
CheerScout does not control the privacy practices of third-party websites or services that may be linked from CheerScout. Users should review the privacy policies of those third parties separately.
12.Payments
If CheerScout offers paid products or services, payment information may be processed by third-party payment providers or app-store payment systems. CheerScout generally does not need to store your complete payment card number when payment processing is handled by an authorized payment provider.
Payment providers may collect and process payment information according to their own privacy policies and terms.

CheerScout may display advertising in the future to help support the operation and maintenance of the Services. If advertising is introduced, CheerScout will take appropriate steps to comply with applicable privacy and advertising laws.

18.Parents and Guardians
A parent or legal guardian may contact CheerScout regarding information associated with a minor’s account. Depending on the request and applicable law, we may request information reasonably necessary to verify the parent’s or guardian’s identity and authority to make the request.
Parents and guardians may request that information associated with a minor be reviewed, corrected, or deleted where applicable.
19.Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. However, no website, application, database, or internet transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Users should use strong passwords, protect their account credentials, and notify CheerScout if they believe their account has been compromised.
